Update on INS offices

Posted on September 14, 2001 GOVERNMENT OFFICE CLOSINGS AND OTHER CHANGES The following is information regarding closings of government offices and other changes in operations due to the events of September 11 and due to related security issues: 1. Denver INS District Office is open today 9/13/01 2. Denver EOIR is OPEN on 9/13/01. 3. All Florida INS Offices are open 9/13/01. 4. Newark INS District Office open 9/13/01. 5. Salt Lake City INS District Office is open (9/13/01).Examinations says Tuesdays adjustment interviews have been rescheduled for the same time on Friday (tomorrow). All interviews for today and tomorrow will go forward as usual. 6. Baltimore INS has told me that they will not be doing any deferred inspections at BWI Airport until maybe next week. 7. Houston INS Office open today.9/13/01 8. St. Louis INS Office is open to public. 9. Chicago INS Office is open today 9/13/01 10. Arlington Asylum Office Interviews are all postponed until further notice. 11. Los Angeles INS Office is Open . 9/13/01 12. Memphis INS Office is open today. 9/13/01. I 13.Hartford,CT INS Office is closed to the public today. 9/12/01 and until further notice. The Mass Naturalization ceremony on 9/14/01 is postponed to an undetermined date. 14. Charlotte INS Office is open today. 9/13/01. 15. Buffalo, NY INS Offices are opened today (9/13/01). Update - All entrants (especially attorneys) should have gov't issued photo ID to get into the building. The Buffalo Federal Detention Facility is off limits to the public at this time. 16. NY Immigration Court is closed through Friday. 17NJ INS Office is open today. 9/13/01. 18. Boston Immigration Court is open today. 9/13/01 19. Boston INS Office is open today. 9/13/01. 20.The Application Support Center in Birmingham, Alabama was closed to the public from yesterday, 9/11/01, at 11:00am to 1:15 pm today, 9/12/01. Individuals scheduled for fingerprints or adjustment interviews tomorrow should call the Support Center at (205) 731-0317 to make sure they are open. 21.(1).INS Indianapolis was open today(9/13/01).(2.)US embassy London is closed Thursday and Friday. Post requests that attorneys of record CALL to reschedule visa appts, 011-44-20-7355-3335. Will be flexible in rescheduling.(3).US-Canadian border was open at Lacolle, Quebec, northbound into Canada. (This is 3rd party info, posted FWIW.) No word on what is open southbound into US. 22.New York Dept. of Labor office is closed until further notice, due to its proximity to the World Trade Center. 23.Detroit-Executive Office of Immigration Review- Open for Business. (313) 226-2603 INS Detroit District office- Open to the public for business. (313) 568-6025 INS Port of Entry Detroit Windsor/ Tunnel. Open for business. The Free trade officer is available and will be at the POE until 4 p.m. today(9/13/01). (313) 568-6019 Practitioners should always call ahead to the Immigration Court, INS Detroit District office, or the INS Tunnel POE in advance just to be sure. 24. The Embassy in Tel-Aviv reopened for business today(9/13/01).
