USCIS Announces Streamlined Process for Child Citizenship Certificates

“I want prospective parents, who are seriously considering international adoption, to know that the process just got a little easier. This program will help parents to more rapidly realize the privileges of American citizenship for their children. Important Update Regarding Special Registration

Reports in various media, indicating that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is planning to eliminate Special Registration (also know as NSEERS), have confused many of the people subject to the program's ongoing requirements. The one thing that is unmistakably clear is that all aspects of Special Registration--including re-registration and departure registration--are still in effect at this time. Consulates In Saudi Arabia to Remain Closed This Week

State Dept. spokesman Richard Boucher indicated in his 11/10/03 press briefing that the U.S. embassy and consulates in Saudi Arabia will be closed for at least the remainder of this week, as a precaution in light of the 11/8 bombing in Riyadh.
