EB-3 and EB-2 Progress for CHINA and INDIA
|
March 22, 2001. According to Charles Oppenheim of the State Department, we can expect to see employment-based second preference numbers for India and China to become current in the near future, possibly as early as May or June. EB-3 numbers for China and India are expected to advance at a somewhat slower rate, averaging probably five months or more advancement per month for China and about four months advancement per month for India. Mr. Oppenheim indicates that there is good reason to believe that EB-3 numbers for all nationalities will become current in the first quarter of the next fiscal year (which begins in October). It should be noted, however, that unexpected spikes in demand could change this outlook.
