New Social Security Non-Match Reg Released
The Department of Homeland Security has released a revised version of the Social Security Non-Match Regulation. There are very few changes from the previously contested version. Please see the National Immigration Law Center's summary of the new Non-Match Rule.

H-1B Cap Reached in First Week of Filing
USCIS Announced Today that the Fiscal Year 2009 H-1B Cap has been met. The Master's cap has also been reached. USCIS received over 160,000 H-1B petitions, and over 31,000 Master's Cap petitions.

Kansas Legislative Update
The Kansas Legislature has passed two immigration related bills, Sub SB 329 in the House and Sub SB 458 in the Senate. Both remain anti-immigrant, but are significantly less punitive than when the session started

USCIS Extends OPT Work Permits for Graduates in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics who are employed by businesses enrolled in the E-Verify program
