FAR E-Verify Federal Contractor Regulation Date June 30th, 2009
FAR E-Verify Regulations for federal contractors should come into effect on June 30, 2009. These regulations have been pushed back twice, and it is possible that they will be put on hold again. If not, federal contractors should review the regulations, train their I=9 personnel for new E-Verify requirements, including an audit to make sure that the I-9 comply with new E-Verify rule.
DHS Annoucnes New Enfocement Strategy
Department of Homeland Security headed by Secretary Napolitano announced on April 30th that it would would focus its enforcement strategy on employers. In contrast to targeting undocumented workers in on-site raids, ICE will target employers of undocumented workers instead. More information at http://www.aila.org/content/default.aspx?docid=28757
