By Mira Mdivani: On July 1, 2009, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) has announced that it will conduct I-9 inspections of 652 employers across the United States, in furtherance of its newly announced policy of enforcement against employers. Both civil and criminal penalties have been imposed on employers in the past as a result of such inspections.
